who turned off the lights?

the lights went off while i was watching tv but we werent in complete darkness cos my mom was working on her laptop and that gave a considerable amount of light..
my brother suggested maybe some harry potter-like guy was being delivered to his aunts house and dumbledore just used the put-outer.. ha ha..

i thought it was some sort of terrorist attack (yea blame it on the terrorists..) heh not that they shouldnt be blamed but everyones so jittery now everythings related to terrorist attacks..

anyway my brother called his friend who found out through the radio that it is indeed a blackout and nothing to worry about i guess..

we went around looking for candles and stuff (and mind you we have loads of those!) we managed to light 8 candles of assorted colours, sizes and smells using the kitchen stove, and we would have lit more but the lights came on again.. what a waste.. my room was just beginning to smell of strawberries.. and i was just having fun using my ikea lantern! hmm we also found out that we have a working torchlight..

my lantern! :)

singaporeans aren't that bad.. there were people who helped direct traffic where the traffic lights weren't working..
but of course there were some people who complained and expressed how upset they were when they had to take a cold shower.. boo hoo..

anyway, i guess you really only realise how dependent you are on electricity when its gone.. i kept walking in and out of rooms and automatically switching the light switch and then i realised there's a blackout and i'm holding a candle.. heh.. and i realised how easily indonesia can plunge half of singapore into darkness if ever the need arises..

an interesting end to an otherwise boring day :)
